Redworms don't have teeth, so chop up your leftovers as fine as possible. Running them through a food processor or blender is even better. Keep a piece of folded newspaper over the fresh food. Worms don't like light. They eat all your veggies and fruit waste. Don't overdue it on citrus. They may also not like onions and garlic skins. Gritty materials like cornmeal and crushed eggshells will assist your worms in digesting their food. A worm eats half his weight per day.

Don't feed your Redworms:
Meat, bones, dairy products, salt, vinegar, cooking oils, mayonnaise, oleander, pine needles, eucalyptus leaves, foxglove or any other toxic plant. Nor dog or cat manure.

Do keep your compost moist like a wrung out sponge, don't flood your bin but sprinkle it with water. Redworms need moisture to move and survive. Make your compost in a shaded place or put your compost bin accordingly.
