Why
you should use Earthworms in your soil or compost
Almost
all scientists, agricultural experts, soil culturists, and horticulturists
agree on the importance of the earthworm in the soil for maximum
plant growth, production and soil conservation.
Many hundreds of years ago, the Greek philosopher Aristotle call
the earthworm "the intestines of the earth".
As
the earthworm burrows, it loosens the soil around the root areas
(does not eat roots) and forms channels through which root
grow, water moves and nutrients disperse better in the subsoil.
These burrows hold rain and irrigation water. Earthworms digest
what is in front of them. Depending on the soil quality their
casting is in accordance with the food source.

Dept. of Agriculture experiments have shown that the infiltration
rate of clay soil can increase using earthworms. The water stability
of various types of soil can change by 3.5 to 27 percent. Chemical
analysis of parent soil without earthworm and the same soil after
being worked by earthworms showed the following increases of chemical

Experiments
have shown approximately 250% increase in yields of corn, 64%
for rye, 3% for oats, 135% for potatoes and 300% for field peas
through the use of earthworms.
The
same effect is also inherent where earthworms are used in the
garden and for lawns. For such usage we recommend to use around
25 earthworms per square foot. The conclusion is clear that your
earthworms will convert your fertilization input even better.

Earthworm
castings are the best imaginable potting soil additive for your
houseplants, greenhouse growers, lawns, veggie gardens, planters,
trees etc. The nutrients are water soluble, making them quick available
to the plants. Mix about 25% to the soils. The plant will grow fast
and strong. Nematodes and disease will not ruin gardens or plants
if the soil is rich in quality organic matter. It is the weak plant
in poor soil that is destroyed by nematodes and disease.
Our
5 lb. bag of redworms contain about 100 worms of all sizes including
their egg capsules which will have 4-10 baby worms each when they
hatch in 5-12 days. Add the redworms to you compost pile for an
accelerated composting process. Your compost will be ready in half
the time. Also add Agrowinn-Minerals
to your compost and you will have 57 nutrients added. Dust lightly
over each fresh layer of compost. Nutrients are what every plant
needs. The earlier you add them the better.
Agrowinn-Worm-Castings
are free of toxins from landfills. We do not use landfill or greenwastes.
